Web Content Management
Migrating a Web Site to Drupal
Drupal’s advantages for running enterprise web sites are well established by such companies as FedEx, The Economist, and The White House. But many who would like to use it hesitate because they fear loss of assets now managed by their current site’s platform, or expect the procedure to transfer those assets to be prohibitively difficult.
The Open Government Directive and Open Source Social Publishing
The explicit purpose of the OGD is to improve citizen interaction and engagement. Realizing the intentions behind the directive will require significant website innovation for many departments and agencies. Many public sector sites today are based on legacy, static web technologies. What content is available is often out of date, and citizens have limited, if any, ability to interact.

Optimizing Drupal Performance
This paper presents the results of performance benchmarks for comparing several common PHP runtime environments and configurations. The application used for benchmarking is Drupal, the open source social publishing platform. Tested runtime environments included plain PHP, Zend Server (www.zend.com/products/server), and opensource optimizers, such as APC and WinCache.
For the purpose of this benchmark, a simple Drupal-based website was set up and tested in various commonly
used Windows and Linux configurations.
